James Edgcomb

Judge Edgcomb has been serving District Court 04-3-01 since 2016. He was elected to the seat that his father, retired Senior Judge Brian Edgcomb held for 14 years. Judge Edgcomb is a lifelong resident of Tioga County. After graduating from Lock Haven University in 2001 he started serving the Tioga County Court system as a Probation Officer with the Tioga County Probation Department where he served for 14 years. When he left the Tioga County Probation Department to pursue the office of Magisterial District Judge, he was an Assistant Supervisor and Field Training Officer. Since taking the bench, he immediately became an active member of the Special Court Judges’ Association of Pennsylvania. He has served and continues to serve on multiple committees. He has served as the Vice-Chair of multiple committees. He has served as past District Three Director and most recently District Three President. He is a current member of the Legislative Committee representing District Three. He has had the privilege of serving in an advisory role to the Executive Board under the past three Presidents. He also served a six-year term with the Supreme Courts Minor Court Rules Committee finishing his term as Chair. He was elected 2nd Vice President for the SCJAP in 2026.
