Scott Hammer
Judge Hammer, raised in North East in Erie Co., graduated in 1987 from North East High School. He went on to attend accounting and business classes. He started working at the family furniture store at age 11. He worked as a part time police officer for 8 years, at the same time until deciding to run for North East Township Tax Collector in 1997 serving from 1998-2011. Scott was also elected 1st as district 1 rep. and then as Vice president of the West in the Pennsylvania State Tax Collectors Association. Scott was appointed to the North East Township Planning Board and served 5years until being replaced after winning Election as Magisterial District Judge in 2011, now in his 3rd term. Judge Hammer has served on various SCJAP committees almost since the start of his career. He became Chairman of Budget & Finance in 2021. He has also been the District 1 Director and Treasurer, Past Vice President and President of Erie Co. He and his wife Susan of 32 years reside in North East Township. They have 3 children Morgan (Sean), Cole (Sara), and Ethan, along with their 3 grandchildren and 1 on the way!
