The Honorable Adam D. Stallard serves western Crawford County as Magisterial District Judge 30-3-01. Adam Stallard was nominated by the Republican and Democratic parties and elected into judicial office in 2021.

Adam was born and raised in western Crawford County. He graduated from Linesville High School as class president and went on to Penn State University to earn his B.S. Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, B.A. English and an interdisciplinary Certificate of Technical Writing. Adam earned his law degree cum laude from Widener University School of Law and has been a licensed Pennsylvania attorney and registered United States Patent Attorney since 2013.

A self-described “country lawyer,” Judge Adam Stallard has wide-ranging general law practice experience uniquely fit for the office of Magisterial District Judge. Shortly after law school he became an independent land title abstractor for various energy producers all across Pennsylvania. Attorney Stallard “hung up a shingle” in his hometown of Linesville in 2015 where he enjoyed a thriving solo general law practice concentrated in the areas of real estate law, estate planning, estate administration, business law, intellectual property law, family law, municipal law, civil law and criminal law. He merged his private law practice in 2018 with Shafer Law Firm, Crawford County’s largest law firm that was founded by former Pennsylvania Governor Raymond P. Shafer. Attorney Stallard eventually retired from Shafer Law Firm upon his election to the bench in 2021 and he maintains a select private solo practice in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

From near the beginning of his law practice career until taking the bench in 2022, Attorney Stallard served the court system in Crawford County in various public service attorney capacities. He primarily served the county as a court-appointed parent attorney, a position in which Attorney Stallard routinely represented parents and guardians who were subjected to child removal and juvenile dependency proceedings brought by Children & Youth Services (“CYS”). Attorney Stallard also served Crawford County as a court-appointed mental health attorney, representing individuals who were subject to involuntary mental health commitments. He also served the county court system as a civil judgement appeals arbitrator and as a court-appointed criminal defense attorney.

Soon after assuming judicial office in 2022, Judge Stallard was tasked by the President Judge of Crawford County to design, develop and implement a newly envisioned “Truancy Court,” which was later founded and formed in the fall of 2022. Now hearing all truancy cases brought in Crawford County, Truancy Court Judge Stallard vigorously works with students, parents/guardians, school officials, community members, juvenile probation officers, CYS and other human services professionals and support systems to reduce and eliminate truancy across the county.

Judge Stallard is active in several community organizations, professional associations and advisory boards. He is currently Vice President of the Crawford County Bar Association, Incorporator Board Member of Meadville Medical Center, and a Member of both the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania. Judge Stallard also serves on Crawford County’s Criminal Justice Advisory Board and Children’s Roundtable Board.
