Judge Schireson graduated from Penn State and Temple University Law School.   After a judicial clerkship he was appointed Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney.  He organized and headed the first sex crimes unit of the DA’s office prosecuting jury trials in Rape and Murder cases.

After leaving the DA’s office he supervised litigation as Assistant General Counsel of ARAMARK.  In 1982 he successfully litigated a commercial claim before the US/Iran Claims Tribunal at the World Court.

In 1984 he was appointed as District Justice in Montgomery County.  Drawing on his experience as a high school teacher he designed award-winning community service programs for youthful offenders.  His innovations in drug, alcohol, and driving programs served as models for other courts.

In 1999 the PA Supreme Court appointed Judge Schireson to represent Pennsylvania’s 550 Magisterial District Judges on the Judicial Council. There he chaired a committee to study security in district courts, resulting in security upgrades in community courts across the state. He also served on the committee that authored the Strategic Plan for Pennsylvania’s Judiciary 2008-2015.  He has served on 3 Supreme Court advisory boards and was president of the Montgomery County Special Court Judges Association.

Judge Schireson is a 40-year member of the Montgomery Bar Association which in 2011 rated him “Highly Recommended” for the Court of Common Pleas.  He currently serves as a Trustee of the Lower Merion Academy.  He speaks at churches, synagogues and civic organizations about the legal system.
