James R. Edgcomb

Judge Edgcomb has been serving District Court 04-3-01 since 2016. He was elected to the seat that his father, retired Senior Judge Brian Edgcomb held for 14 years. Judge Edgcomb is a lifelong resident of Tioga County. After graduating from Lock Haven University in 2001 he starting serving the Tioga County Court system as a Probation Officer with the Tioga County Probation Department where he served for 14 years. When he left the Tioga County Probation Department to pursue the office of Magisterial District Judge, he was an Assistant Supervisor and Field Training Officer. He is an active member of the Special Court Judges’ Association of Pennsylvania, where he serves on multiple committees. He was appointed as a member of the Minor Court Rules Committee of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in October of 2018.
