Magisterial District Judge Mark D Douple has been Doylestown’s District Judge since 2010. He has been a resident of Doylestown since 1986 when he began his legal career. In 2015, he was honored by his colleagues when they elected him President of the Magisterial District Judges Association of Bucks County. He is currently one of seven members of the Special Court Judges Association of Pennsylvania who has been appointed to the Ethics and Professionalism Committee. This committee provides Ethics Opinions to Judges across the state who have inquiries. He remains a member of the Bucks County Bar Association. In the past he was the chairman of the lawyer referral service and bench bar conference committees. He is also a past recipient of the president’s award in recognition to his dedication and service to the bar association. In 1997 he was appointed to the Doylestown Park & Recreation board. Shortly thereafter he was also appointed to the Zoning Hearing Board. During this time he became a member of the Doylestown Athletic Association (DAA) board, where he served as it’s president from 1999 to 2001. In 2002 he was honored to be elected to serve on Borough Council. He remained on Council until he was elected as Doylestown’s District Judge. While on Council he served as chairman of the Recreation, Shade Tree and Property Committee, the Zoning and Planning Committee and the Public Safety Committee. He was also on the Personnel and Energy and Environmental Committees. He also remained active with DAA and Central Bucks Athletic Association as a coach and referee. For a few years he was a league director for DAA’s basketball program. He remains a PIAA High School Basketball Official. He was also on the board of Directors for the Lenape Valley Foundation, a local mental health provider, from 2003 to 2012. He resides in Doylestown with his wife Lisa. They are the parents of four sons; Mark (Chicago, Ill.), Joshua (Los Angeles, Ca.), Jason (West Point, NY) and Matthew (Fort Collins, Co).
