Steven F. Lachman has been serving as a Magisterial District Judge since 2014.  He holds a law degree from Vermont Law School and a master’s degree and doctorate in geography from Penn State University.  Prior to his election in 2013, he worked as a public defender in Pittsburgh, a litigator for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and a legal writing professor at the Penn State law school.  Judge Lachman has published several articles in law reviews and one in the American Bar Association’s weekly newsletter.  He and his wife, Kate, have been married since 1986.  They have a grown son and daughter and one granddaughter.
